CLINICAL PRESENTATION: A 68-year-old man with a history of unexplained anemia came to his physician's office for further investigation.   He noted having increased fatigue and night sweats.  A complete blood count (CBC) was performed and showed a worsening progressive anemia.

CLINICAL PRESENTATION: APGARS at birth were normal on a 3 kg full term infant.  Shortly after birth, the baby presented in acute respiratory distress with a feeble pulse, marked jaundice, pallor and cyanosis, with a whole body purpuric rash.

CLINICAL PRESENTATION: A 80-year-old female presents for evaluation due to increased bruising and fatigue. Physical examination revealed no hepatosplenomegaly or lymphadenopathy however, a diffuse petechial rash was noted over the lower extremities.

A 64-year-old Japanese woman with a history of disseminated nocardial infection,  abscesses in the brain and lungs, and a facial herpetic infection presented to the local ER.  A complete blood count (CBC) was performed and showed an elevated  white blood cell count (WBC) of 45,600/uL.
